I’ve finally got my 200sx back again. I didn’t end up installing the RB25 turbo like I said I would in my last post. I realized that it would cost too much to mod everything to fit a new turbo.  So, I got my TD04L 13G turbo rebuilt.

I was quite damaged according to the turbo guys. Had to have the bearing, seals, compressor wheel and shaft replaced

It up and running again now though so its awesome. I took it out for a Drive up the coast here are some pics:

I also came across a SL55 AMG on the way back. It was a fun short run I know he tapped off at the end, but it was fun to run with him anyways:

So, I haven’t updated in a while… The reason being that my sx isn’t running again. The turbo decided to give up on me (fulling my intercooler with oil on its way out!).

Anyways, I’m making plans for a new turbo. I buddy of mine is doing a RB25DET swap and I’m gonna buy the RB25DET turbo off his motor as he’s got a turbo to use already. Failing that, I am gonna buy myself a RB25DET motor and use that turbo while I prepare for the my own RB25DET swap Either way I’m gonna be buying a RB25DET motor as I want to have the swap done by some time early next year.

Well, my sx was fine last weekend but as soon as Monday morning struck it haven’t been going so well…

My sx developed a misfire when I try get on boost. We are pretty sure it is because of no spark. I can’t figure out whats causing it. I’ve replaced plugs, swapped out all the coils, looked at all the wiring, change the chargetime on the ECU, burnt myself a lot in the process but I still can’t find out what is causing it

So, back to Gary it will go tommorow. He should be able to sort it out for me. Hopefully it will be nothing serious.

I though that I should give you an update on whats current happening with my sx. Its currently sitting at my tuners house with no engine management system that can run it.

It originally went in with a blown head gasket. It was soon discovered that the head was warped … So while the head went off for straightening and gas flow I decided to do a few mods while I could. Gary built me a custom water/meth kit and I also asked for the ABS to be removed (save some weight and get rid of the old system to aid in track day braking ).

Everything was going to plan. I had a track day to attend soon and the head came back in time, the meth kit was done, the ABS was out, it was just down to some tuning for the new meth kit. Then, things started to go downhill… When tuning for meth, the Dicktator engine management system suddenly stopped working! The injectors were just being held open. The injector driver was blown. This was only the start of my bad luck…

I send the Dicktator back to the manufacturers to get fixed and decided to get some new injectors while I wait. I ordered some nice 780cc injectors from Eric Performance Parts.

I finally got the Dicktator back after lots of drama with the post office and the injectors also arrived shortly after. I though all was well, but as it turned out the injectors where wrong! So I had to send them back and get replacements sent. Then we tried to get my sx started on the old injectors so I could at least drive it for a meet. But no, it seemed the Dicktator wasn’t fixed either!! So both after fighting with the post office to get both the injectors and the Dicktator, they were both wrong!!

So now I’m sitting with a management system that seems to still be broken but the company says its fixed and working and they tested it before they sent it… and the right injectors are still on their way. They should be here this week.

So now I have to decide what to do. Try get the engine management to work, or buy a new one and send the old one back to get fixed and sell it to cover some costs… Hopefully I can have my sx running by this weekend if I end up buying a new management system. I’ve been with out my sx for 2 and a half months already!!
